"There are many ways to interpret Sancho Panzo, the loyal sidekick. The novel gives him the forbearance of an over-worked pack mule, loyal and willing to do the absurd in the name of his master. In the musical, as played by Jason Marks, he's a bit of a cartoon. That isn't necessarily a bad thing, given that he has to sing 'I Really Like Him' to explain why he does what he does (and boy, does he sing it well!), but it also creates a distinct division between him and everyone else on the stage."
